Google launches AI shopping tools with virtual try-ons and smarter price alerts

Google is rolling out new AI-powered shopping tools designed to make everything from finding the right outfit to scoring the best deal a lot easier.

Try it on — virtually. Google’s AI-powered virtual try-on tool is now live in the U.S. Shoppers can upload a full-length photo and see how clothes from Google’s massive catalog look on them.

The feature is integrated across Search, Google Shopping, and product results on Google Images. This was first previewed at I/O.

Price alerts with precision. Google’s upgraded price tracking now lets U.S. shoppers set alerts for specific sizes, colors, and price points. The Shopping Graph monitors retailers across the web and notifies you when a product drops to your chosen price.

  • No more endless refreshing to see if that designer bag is finally on sale.

AI-powered style and decor inspo. Starting this fall, AI Mode will surface shoppable outfit and room design inspiration directly in search.

  • Using vision match tech, Google will pull curated product listings for everything from “green flowy dresses” to “bedroom design ideas.”

The big picture. Google is blending search, AI and ecommerce to turn casual browsing into curated, purchase-ready experiences — and potentially rivaling dedicated shopping platforms like Amazon and Pinterest.

Why we care. Google’s new AI shopping tools deepen consumer engagement directly within Search and Google Shopping, where purchase intent is already high. Features like virtual try-on and AI-powered inspiration keep users browsing products longer and closer to conversion, creating more opportunities for brands to be discovered. Smarter price alerts also mean shoppers are primed to buy when a product meets their desired price, giving advertisers a better shot at closing the sale at the right moment.
